With high volumes of hype surrounding the recent North American International Auto Show in Detroit, most car lovers aren't looking towards the next automotive extravaganzas in line. Manhattan Mazda understands this and is more than happy to stay one step ahead of the game. We've scoured the industry's information pool and found out that the next-generation Mazda6 will make its official, worldwide premier at the 2012 Paris Auto Show early this fall.
Sound like a long time to wait? Perhaps. But while the leaves still have to bud and bloom before they can begin to change colors and fall, we find it's always helpful to stay one, or even two, steps ahead of the season. In order to get a glimpse of the brilliant Mazda6 colors to come, consumers need look no further than the automaker's Takeri Concept.
Company officials have revealed that the forthcoming Mazda6 offering will take many of its styling cues from the Takeri and integrate new Mazda innovations such as the KODO - Soul of Motion design language and next-gen SkyActiv technology. As for the powertrain, think the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder found in the current Mazda3, only better. The Takeri concept makes use of the automaker's fresh SkyActiv diesel engine which bumps up output to around 165-hp and more than 300-lb./ft. of torque. Though we can't say for sure whether or not the revamped Mazda6 will get this engine, Mazda has said it will make its way to North America in one new Mazda model or another.
