Mazda CX-5 Commercial Involves The Lorax?!

There are many techniques employed when considering how to market an automobile or auto brand. Mazda is taking a step outside of the box, and involving Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. Yes you read that correctly. More specifically, the commercial for the 2012 Mazda CX-5 incorporates The Lorax.  With a new 3-D movie coming out next month, which is base on the best-selling book from the Dr. Seuss franchise it makes sense in way.  Let us explain, because we are sure you are wondering what is the common ground among the new Mazda CX-5 and The Lorax.

As Illumination Entertainment Founder and CEO Chris Meledandri details, "The Lorax character's view of the environment fits in exactly with Mazda and Skyactiv Technology, so the two were a perfect match for a commercial. By staying true to who the Lorax and other Truffula Valley animals are we were able to create a fun and engaging spot."1 So now you know. Mazda and the Lorax (who gets its vocals from Danny Devito) have a conscious for the environment, and both are doing something about it.

Mazda has many other causes to close to its heart as well. The company will also donate $25 for every new Mazda test drive (up to $1 million) from now until April 2, 2012 towards the National Education Association. Specifically, the company will give aid to the Read Across America Program, which aids public school libraries across the U.S.  So you might want to get out there and take a Mazda for a spin.  You're in for a good ride, and you get to help out our wonderful planet earth, and its inhabitants
