October unveiled the highly anticipated redesigned MAZDA3, which comes with standard eco-friendly, fuel-efficient SkyActiv technology.

For starters, the new 2012 MAZDA3 SkyActiv gains a new high-compression engine and six-speed transmission (available in either manual or automatic). This gives you an impressive highway mileage of 40 miles per gallon (mpg) - making it 7-mpg more efficient than its 2011 predecessor.

A priority for Mazda was to increase fuel efficiency, but the trick was to do it without sacrificing performance?never an easy thing to do. From what Manhattan Mazda has seen, their determination paid off. Rated at 155 horsepower and 148 lb.-ft. of torque, it boasts 10 more ponies of power and 12 more lb.-ft. of tenacity than the outgoing 2011 MAZDA3.
