Mazda Makes the Basics a Priority for 2014 MX-5 Miata

We at Manhattan Mazda think its quite an accomplishment to break a world record. While we can't quantify the most Mazda loyalty, we're just going to have to live vicariously through one of our favorite models: the Mazda MX-5 Miata. According to the Guinness World Book of Records, it is the most popular sports car in the world based on sales.
With a 22-year history, the Mazda Miata as it is frequently referred to, hopes to be going strong for at least another 22 years. That's one reason why we were happy to discover that the Japanese automaker has a trick up its sleeve for the 2014 variant. Juxtaposed to most things that move forward as fast as they can, the Miata is going to take a run down memory lane. In one article, Hirotaka Kanazawa, Chief of Research and Development, says, "We will return to the original. It will be lightweight and the cost will be lightweight too. It will be easy to handle and fun to drive."1.
Despite going back to its roots, the Mazda will certainly include some of the new technology, like the Takeri Concept styling language. What exactly does that mean? Think alluring undertones and a more attractive body. As for power, it's looking like Mazda will give the model a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with SkyActiv technology. SkyActiv will work alongside the new convertible variant's reduced, 2,200-lb weight to deliver excellent fuel-economy stats.
Manhattan Mazda for one, is looking forward driving down memory lane, with updated style in teh MX-5 Miata flavor. Until the 2014 variant arrives, we invite you to check out our current MX-5 Miata offerings or any of the other new Mazda models we have available at 787 11th Avenue New York, NY.
